The Data Journey: From Collection to Goodbye

Every piece of information you share with WagelPaw embarks on a carefully managed journey. This notice is our way of walking you through that path—from the moment data arrives, through how it helps us serve you, to when it’s time to say goodbye. We believe that understanding this lifecycle is the foundation of real trust, and we’re committed to making that journey transparent and worthy of your confidence.

By choosing to interact with our website and services, you’re acknowledging the practices outlined here, including the fact that your data will be transferred to and stored in the United States/Canada/Hong Kong. If this approach doesn’t align with your expectations, we respect that, and we ask that you not use our platform.

How Your Information Arrives

Your story with us begins when you share details that help us recognize and assist you. This happens naturally as you browse, make a purchase, or sign up for updates. When you complete a transaction, we learn about your preferences and needs. If you’re sending something to a friend or colleague, we’ll collect the necessary contact and shipping details for that recipient to ensure a smooth delivery. Behind the scenes, our systems and service providers automatically note technical context—like your browser type, device model, and how you move through the site—which helps us understand what’s working and where we can improve. We may also receive updated address or demographic information from external sources, or gain insights when you connect with us through a social network based on your settings there. All these pieces can be combined across the devices you use to form a coherent picture, allowing us to tailor your experience more effectively.

How We Put It to Work for You

The information we hold is the engine behind every aspect of your experience. It allows us to validate and fulfill your orders, manage payments and shipping, and maintain a reliable record of your purchases. We use it to recognize you when you return, to send you relevant catalogs and newsletters, and to show you offers and advertisements that align with your interests, both on our site and elsewhere online. Analyzing this data in aggregate helps us refine our products and the overall shopping journey. We also rely on it to protect the security of our platform, prevent fraud, and respond to your questions and support requests with the context we need to help you efficiently.

When Your Data Travels to Others

To deliver the services you expect, some sharing is necessary, and we approach it thoughtfully. Your information may be shared within our family of affiliated companies. When we partner with other businesses for joint promotions or rewards programs, we may share data with them to fulfill those specific offerings. We also work with select partners whose products might interest you. Service providers who perform essential functions on our behalf, such as delivering orders, receive only the information they need to do their jobs. In the event of a business transition like a merger or sale, your data would be transferred as a business asset. We will also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public, and our business. Finally, we may share or sell aggregated, non-identifiable data for analytics or marketing, which cannot be traced back to you personally.

Your Toolkit: Cookies, Ads, and Choices

Our site relies on cookies to function properly, and by using our services, you are consenting to their use. If you’re not comfortable with this, the full functionality of the site won’t be available to you. We use different types of cookies for different purposes: strictly necessary ones keep your session secure and your shopping bag intact; performance cookies help us see how visitors move through the site; functionality cookies remember your preferences like currency and country; and targeting cookies allow us and our advertising partners to show you more relevant ads. Our systems may not recognize Do Not Track signals from all browsers.

You have meaningful control over your advertising experience. To opt out of interest-based advertising from many third-party advertisers, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp and www.aboutads.info/choices. For opting out of Criteo’s services specifically, please review their policy at www.criteo.com/us/privacy-policy. To prevent Google Analytics from using your data, an opt-out browser add-on is available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. General information on managing and refusing cookies can be found at www.allaboutcookies.org. We also use Flash cookies to store settings like video volume preferences; these are managed differently than browser cookies, and you can learn how to adjust those settings at http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/ flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html.

Keeping It Safe While It's Here

We take the protection of your data seriously and have implemented physical, administrative, and technical safeguards. When you transmit sensitive details like credit card information, we encrypt that transmission using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Your personal information is retained only for as long as it is needed to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to support our legitimate business operations, or as required by law. Once information is no longer necessary, it is securely destroyed, erased, or made anonymous.

Your Seat at the Table: Rights and Control

You are in the driver’s seat when it comes to your data and communications. If you have an account, you can contact our Customer Service team to access or update your details. You can also request that we delete or restrict your data, though we may need to retain some information for legally permitted reasons, which we will explain to you. To manage promotional emails, you can use the unsubscribe link in any message or adjust your preferences in your online account. For direct mail, a quick email to our team will remove you from the catalog list.

If you’ve provided your phone number during checkout or via a subscription, you’re agreeing to receive text notifications about your order and marketing offers. You can stop these messages at any time by replying STOP or contacting us at support@wagelpaw.com. The data needed to send these messages is shared with our text messages operator to complete delivery.

For our customers in California, you have the right to request details about how we’ve shared your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make this request, please send an email to support@wagelpaw.com with “Attn: California Privacy” in the subject line. We will process your request within 30 days, and you are entitled to make one such request per year.
